I know there has been a lot communications flying in different directions and from now on I will make sure things also get posted through this email grouping. I just got off the phone with Paul Roebber and have a longer range forecast. The current storm is going to be replaced by another storm front on Friday which will shift the winds from NW to SW, and continue to produce 15-25 knots winds and 5-7 foot waves, although somewhat warmer. After that passes there will be significant Arctic northerly flow on Saturday and Sunday making it very cold again. The winds should calm down on Sunday, however, and it looks pretty good behind that. So, it looks like Sunday afternoon at the very earliest, if it lays down quickly and we can handle the temps, but more realistically Monday morning. Essentially everything is set up on the ship and we can plan to meet at the ship and get started within about 3 hours of making a decision to go. So what I need is a way to contact everyone should we try for the Sunday start. Please send me home phone numbers, also I can post an email Sunday morning by 9:00 AM will the latest information. I've spoken with Gary F. about the possibility of extending this first leg into the 2 day turnaround window, and he felt like we (the scientific party) could probably make an 8 hour turnaround if needed and use those extra days. I will confirm with the ship whether they can handle this quick of a turn around. Again, I will try to keep the information flowing in a more timely manner. Thanks--Tom What I NEED for this to work is a way to get ahold of everyone
