In fact, the water level is so low in the river, the Laurentian may be sitting on the bottom. Apparently the large freighters haven't been able to get in, and the paper is speculating sandbars or seiche...you tell me. Anyway, the first cruise is postponed until 20 jan 99. However, I expect the PIs to email Tom and copy me as to the exact weather conditions, and the prospect of going out. I will forward any info as soon as I get it.
