Eadie" Subject: NOAA funding Still no final solution - the latest from David Johnson (director NOAA-COP) is that most of the $5M shortfall has been distributed elsewhere leaving approximately $1.2M (of $17M) for COP to swallow. David has a proposed distribution that leaves EEGLE completely intact - we'll see if that flies at levels above him. My read is that at this time the potential damage looks small and those with decisions to make should do so as if we will be almost fully funded. I assume that the letters sent to COP by several NSF-funded PIs were influential in this decision - thanks again to all. We're hoping for the final word this week or next. I'll provide news as it becomes available. ============================================ Brian J.
