Dr. Jose Romero, Research Fellow at the Centre for Environmental Fluid Dynamics, Centre for Water Research, Department of Environmental Engineering at the University of Western Australia will be presenting a talk entitled "Limnology and 3D Simulations of a Warm, Monomictic Reservoir in New South Wales, Australia" on Wednesday, September 23rd at 2:00 pm in the main conference room of the NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory, Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Recent advances in modeling the dynamics of lakes have indicated that a 3-dimensional approach offers distinct improvements in model accuracy compared to standard 1-dimensional models such as DYRESM. These improvements will also include better representation of chemical and biological dynamics. Results of simulations using the 3-D model are presented for a warm, monomictic reservoir.
