NISbase is a distributed database providing information concerning nonindigenous species. NISBase will serve as the portal providing integrated access to the NIASDWG databases (among others). The core NISbase search engine currently provides inte grated access to NEMESIS, USGS-NAS, and GLANSIS information searhable by spe cies, group and/or state. NISbase-refs and NISbase-projects search capacities are currently in development; when complete they will provide access to the SGNIS, ANS Clearinghouse, AIRD, IJC and Sea Grant databases by researcher, title, species and keywords.
