The environmental radiotracers project has been part of
GLERL's research program for 20 years. It has employed a variety
of natural and fallout radionuclides to characterize and model
particle transport processes in diverse systems around the world,
including Lake Constance. It also has provided a practical means
for the environmental management community to assess historic
impacts of contaminants and nutrients on ecosystems and evaluate
proposed remediation strategies.
