At great depths (10-50m): C. profunda v. Nordstedtiana (lime and iron on cell walls gives a rust color, on stones)

Attached: C. glomerata (rocks and walls, especially in waterfalls and rapids), C. glomerata f. kuetzingiana (stones along lakeshores), C. callicoma

Plankton (mature): C. fracta, C. fracta v. lacustris (aka C. fracta f. subsimplex), C. oligoclona, C. insignis, C. crispata
