Profile: <15um with 1 chloroplast D - R. minuta is a dominant component of both the spring and summer phytoplankton assemblage in all 5 Great Lakes. In spring, it is joined by R. lens (co-dominant) in Lakes Michigan and Huron and by R. minuta v. nannoplanctica (co-dominant) in Lake Erie. R. minuta v. nannoplanctica is also a summer co-dominant in Lakes Erie and Ontario. 4 Great Lakes Species: R. lacustris, R. lens, R. minuta, R. pusilla Rhodomonas spp. |
