Inshore areas, at surface by
night, by day usually within a few meters of surface but occassionally
to 40 meters. A visually guided predator feeding on protozoans,
rotifers and smaller cladocerans. In Great Lakes generally
low densities <20 per cubic meter but occassionally to 100-1000
per cubic meter. Females may reach 2mm, males smaller. |
