Sensor Data:

Anemometer: R. M. Young Wind Monitor model 5106 Location: At top of tower at about 24.4 m above site elevation

Temperature and RH sensor: Vaisala HMP-155A Location: Located on tower at about 6.1 m above site elevation

Barometric Pressure Sensor: R. M. Young model 61302V Location: Located on tower at about 2.4 m above site elevation

PAR sensor: Biospherical Instruments model QSR-240R. Located on the roof at the north end of the LMFS garage building, next to the tower. Calibrated 2/2011. Spherical sensor. Prior to 2005, the units were E15 quanta/cm2/s. 2005-present, units are uE/m2/s. To convert E15 quanta/cm2/s to uE/m2/s, multiply by E15*100*100 and divide by 6.02E17 (=16.61). Max value about 3200 uE/m2/s.

Wind speed is the mean wind during the 2-minute recording period. Wind gust is the maximum wind during the same 2-minute recording period. Peak wind is max wind gust during entire hour.

Data collection:

Data is acquired and processed via a Campbell Scientific CR1000X Data Logger, and periodically downloaded by servers at GLERL. The data logger samples the sensors once every 5 seconds and averages the data over two minutes.

Notes on Barometric Pressure:

1. Barometric Pressure values were corrected to sea level (offset = 22mb, h=183.5m, T=53F) at 1855 UTC, 12/15/1999.

2. The 22mb offset to barometric pressure was removed at 1845 UTC, 03/16/2000. The reported pressure is now station pressure, from which sea level pressure is calculated.
