NOAA Research reviews are conducted every four years to evaluate the quality, relevance, and performance of research and development in NOAA OAR labs. The objective is to assist in strategically positioning the lab for planning future science and intended to ensure that research is preeminent and linked to the NOAA Strategic Plan.
Established in 1974 in Ann Arbor, MI, NOAA's Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory conducts high-quality research and provides scientific leadership on important issues in both Great Lakes and marine coastal environments.
GLERL science helps protect life and property, economic well-being, and sustained ecosystem health of the Great Lakes and other U.S. coastal ecosystems.
